Description

This cross-hatch stainless steel tactile stud is manufactured from marine-grade 316L stainless steel and is finished with a cross-hatched surface. At 25mm in diameter and 5mm in height, this stud is in line with DfT guidelines, meaning they are suitable for use in guiding the visually impaired in public and private settings.

Material Information

This stud is made from high-quality 316L stainless steel to ensure lifelong performance in the toughest of conditions. Due to its composition, 316L stainless steel has far superior weathering resistance when compared to other stainless steel, particularly when subjected to harsh rain, snow, or sleet.

Design

The cross hatch tactile stud features a bevelled edge with a cross hatch patterned surface. The shape of the stud provides ample tactile feedback with increased grip levels owing to its patterned surface. The grooves on the surface provide added stability in areas that are prone to heavy rainfall or contamination from things such as oil, diesel, or grease.

Application

These studs are ideal for use as:
  • Stair-nosing alternative
  • Area demarcation aids
  • Tactile guidance for the blind and visually impaired

Installation

These studs are installed by:
  1. Drilling into the desired surface
  2. Clearing the hole of dust and debris
  3. Applying epoxy resin as a fixing agent
  4. Inserting the stud into the hole
Please note: It can take around 24 hours for the epoxy resin to be completely set. Installation equipment required: Drill, drill bit, push pump, epoxy resin, and applicator gun.
