Lincoln’s Inn
Case Study

Project Overview

Lincoln’s Inn required a method for demarcating the stair edges on a very old set of external stairs. A standard stair nosing couldn’t be used due to the level of wear they’d been exposed to and the heritage status of the building and the steps deserved something more fitting.

Brass flush fit visibility studs were chosen as they provided a ample contrast with the pale colour of the stair set while complementing the surrounding aesthetic.

Installation

The studs were installed by drilling twice, one deep hole for the fixing pin and a larger shallower hole to seat the head of the stud for the flush-fit finish. Epoxy resin was then applied before the studs were inserted.
