This tactile stud with anti-slip tape insert is manufactured from 316L stainless steel. At 25mm in diameter and 5mm in height, this stud is in line with DfT guidelines, meaning they are suitable for use in guiding the visually impaired in public and private settings.

Material Information

The tactile stud is made from high-quality 316L stainless steel to ensure lifelong performance in the toughest of conditions. Due to its composition, 316L stainless steel has far superior weathering resistance when compared to other stainless steel, particularly when subjected to harsh rain, snow, or sleet. The insert is made from a textured anti-slip tape that is UV resistant and hardwearing in all conditions.

Design

The tactile stud has a bevelled edge leading up to the textured anti-slip tape insert that sits flush inside the stud.

Application

These studs are ideal for use as:

• Stair-nosing alternative
• Area demarcation aids
• Tactile guidance for the blind and visually impaired

Installation

There are two installation methods for these studs:

1. Welded Pin - Drill and resin
2. Self-adhesive

Please note: If installing using self-adhesive, ensure the surface is cleaned and prepared in advance. When using resin, be aware it may take up to 24 hours for the resin to completely set. Drilling installation equipment required: Drill, drill bit, push pump, epoxy resin, and applicator gun.
