This SD patterned stainless steel tactile stud is manufactured from marine-grade 316L stainless steel and is finished with small pyramid-shaped protrusions on the surface. At 25mm in diameter and 5mm in height, this stud is in line with DfT guidelines, meaning they are suitable for use in guiding the visually impaired in public and private settings.

Material Information

The SD tactile stud is made from high-quality 316L stainless steel to ensure lifelong performance in the toughest of conditions. Due to its composition, 316L stainless steel has far superior weathering resistance when compared to other stainless steel, particularly when subjected to harsh rain, snow, or sleet.

Design

The SD tactile stud features bevelled edges leading up to a unique patterned surface that optimises grip. The shape of the stud provides ample tactile feedback while remaining unobtrusive to pedestrians.

Application

These studs are ideal for use as:

• Stair-nosing alternative
• Area demarcation aids
• Tactile guidance for the blind and visually impaired

Installation

There are two installation methods for these studs:

1. Welded/Machined Pin - Drill and resin
2. Self-adhesive

Please note: If installing using self-adhesive, ensure the surface is cleaned and prepared in advance. When using resin, be aware it may take up to 24 hours for the resin to completely set. Drilling installation equipment required: Drill, drill bit, push pump, epoxy resin, and applicator gun.
