Kings College London
Case Study

Project Overview
Kings College London required a method for demarcating the stair edges leading to a doorway on the campus for safety purposes. They were restricted by the shape and profile of the stairs and also needed the solution to be in keeping with the surrounding aesthetic, as the stairs are part of the buildings heritage status.
Brass flush fit visibility studs were chosen as they provided a sufficient contrast with the white-grey of the stair set while playing into the heritage aesthetic.
Installation
The studs were installed by drilling twice, one deep hole for the fixing pin and a larger shallower hole to seat the head of the stud for the flush-fit finish. Epoxy resin was then applied before the studs were inserted.
